Hawk Mountain Sanctuary is a 2,400-acre natural
area straddling the Kittatinny Ridge in eastern Pennsylvania.
Established in 1934, it was the world's first refuge for raptors.
During the last 64 years, the Sanctuary has become an
international center for conservation, education, and research
about raptors.

Hawk Mountain has picnic at tables in Amphitheater.
Please picnic there. Do not leave food for
animals. Hawk Mountain Sanctuary does not sell food other than
light snacks, water and juice. Pack a lunch and pack all garbage
out.

Costs |
*There is no admission charge for the Visitor
Center, which houses an art gallery, museum exhibits, a bookstore,
and a birdfeeder observation window.
Weekdays and December-August: Adults $5, Seniors
$4, and Children 6 to 12 yrs $3.
Fall weekends and holidays: Adults and Seniors $7, Children 6
to 12 $3.

*Hawk Mountain Sanctuary trails
are open year round, 365 days a year, dawn to dusk. Our Visitor
Center, containing a bookstore, birdfeeder observation window and
Wings of Wonder gallery, is open 8 am to 5 pm September through
November and 9 am to 5 pm all other months.
The Visitor Center is closed Thanksgiving, Christmas and New
Year's Day. Trails are open dawn to dusk. Allow adequate time for return trip
before nightfall.

Rules & Regulations |
Hawk Mountain rules are No
pets, radios, smoking, alcohol, bicycles, horses, camping, fires
are permitted. Hawk Mountain Sanctuary is a smoke free
facility. Please observe nature quietly. Hawk Mountain has a
carry in, carry out trash policy; no trash receptacles on the
Sanctuary. Do not leave the trail. Proper footwear and daypacks
are recommended. Binocular rentals available in Visitor Center.
